In addition to ice charts satellite data often gives further information. Synthetic aperture radar data can be found at polarview and AMSR-2 passive microwave sea ice data can be found at the University Bremen. Some of the satellite data alone is not suitable for navigation and others needs an experienced person to interpret the data.
